Nice - Business, Sustainability & Immigration

Program Overview

Nice’s ideal location on the sea makes it a jewel in the Mediterranean region—one of the oldest trading regions in the world. (It’s often described as an area of mutual economic, social, and cultural exchange). It’s this rich history, as well as the city’s spectacular beauty, that has attracted immigrants from a variety of countries. Enjoy all that this wonderfully diverse city on the Côte d’Azur has to offer while studying Business, Sustainability, Immigration, and other issues unique to France and the Mediterranean region.

You will take your area studies courses at the IES Abroad Center. You will also have the options of supplementing your IES Abroad courses with Business courses at the AACSB- and EQUIS-accredited SKEMA Business School, named one of the best European business schools by the Financial Times. The school is committed to promoting sustainability and corporate social responsibility, with more than 20% of their courses devoted to these principles. SKEMA is located in nearby Sophia Antipolis, a global research park known as the French Silicon Valley, and home to more than 1,300 high-tech companies and start-ups.

Nice and the French Riviera will be your classroom. Imagine yourself walking the medieval cobblestone streets of the Old Town, hiking the incredible biodiversity of the region, or visiting Monaco for the day. Whether you’re an advanced French language student or a beginner, this program offers full immersion into the culture of Nice through courserelated trips, cultural activities, and volunteer opportunities.

Visit www.IESabroad.org for complete program details.

Why Nice?

As the fifth largest city in France, Nice is the capital of the French Riviera and an international metropolis, with more than 160 different nationalities living and working in the region. Because Nice is a European and Mediterranean hub to the world (its international airport is just 5 km from the city center), the city is host to a large number of international businesses and schools, a center for innovation, and a celebrity hotspot.

Student Life

We strive to make sure you feel safe, cared for, and at home while you’re away from home. Whether it’s the orientation program that makes you feel prepared, your housing that is well-located and comfortable, the cultural events that make it easy and fun to meet other international and local students, or the field trips and walking tours that take you to places tourists don’t usually see—we’re all about our student service. Learn more about the day-to-day studying abroad on this program. From field trips to housing, it’s all on IES Abroad’s website.

Scholarships & Aid

IES Abroad firmly believes that financial limitations should not prevent a qualified student from participating in an IES Abroad program. That's why we commit $5 million in study abroad scholarships and aid, all offered through one quick and easy application. Check out all of our scholarship options at www.IESabroad.org/aid.

Aid Application Deadlines:

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Application Process
There is a dual application process for this program.  (1) Students must apply to for permission to study abroad on this program; you can do this by clicking the "Apply Now" button.  At the same time, (2) students apply directly to the program for admission.  The program application can be accessed on the program website.  Please pay close attention to both the IWU and program deadlines, as they may be different.

Tuition Cost
IWU has a home-school tuition policy, which means that students studying abroad will be billed the regular IWU tuition—unless the study abroad tuition is higher, in which case the student pays that higher cost.  Unless otherwise noted, IWU does not charge room and board for studying abroad; instead, students pay those costs to the program provider.
