Arcadia - KCL Program Banner

An outstanding and highly competitive pre-medical program

King's College London Health and Society is a unique opportunity in the UK to have a clinical placement—examples include primary care practices, walk-in centers, and sexual health centers. Course topics may focus on national health systems and medical practice, as well as medicinal ethics, anthropology, and humanities. If you’re pursuing a career in medicine and have a strong academic background in biology, this could be a good option for you.

  • Your program will consist of a clinical placement, a cornerstone course, and three additional classes. You’ll shadow clinicians and other health practitioners, attend lectures from leading academics, and evaluate healthcare-related literature.

  • Located on the South Bank of the Thames at Guy’s Campus—home to the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, the Dental Institute, and the School of Medicine—this is a fashionable area near the Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

  • You should select the Health & Society program option when applying if you think this is the right fit for you — note the early deadline!

  • This is a competitive program with a limited number of spaces. Applicants are evaluated as a gathered field. Your Program Advisor can discuss what to expect during the application process.

  • Travel to fascinating places of interest that enhance your cultural immersion and give a meaningful context to your academic courses through Arcadia's planned Excursions and Activities.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Application Process
There is a dual application process for this program.  (1) Students must apply to for permission to study abroad on this program; you can do this by clicking the "Apply Now" button.  At the same time, (2) students apply directly to the program for admission.  The program application can be accessed on the program website.  Please pay close attention to both the IWU and program deadlines, as they may be different.

Tuition Cost
IWU has a home-school tuition policy, which means that students studying abroad will be billed the regular IWU tuition—unless the study abroad tuition is higher, in which case the student pays that higher cost.  Unless otherwise noted, IWU does not charge room and board for studying abroad; instead, students pay those costs to the program provider.
