Barcelona – Full-Time Semester Internship

Program Overview

Get a head start on your career by gaining international work experience with a semester internship in Barcelona. Working in Barcelona allows you to learn more about the city’s commerce, education, technology startups, entertainment, media, and fashion industries through a hands-on internship. You’ll spend a semester in Barcelona building a global network of professional contacts while taking in everything this beautiful Spanish city has to offer.

Why Barcelona?

Interning abroad in Barcelona guarantees an unpaid, for-credit, internship placement of at least 30-40 hours a week in the field of your choice. Develop your professional skills, your ability to communicate across cultures, and gain real work experience that will jump-start your career in today’s competitive job market.

Student Life

We strive to make sure you feel safe, cared for, and at home while you’re away from home. Whether it’s the orientation program that makes you feel prepared, your housing that is well-located and comfortable, the cultural events that make it easy and fun to meet other international and local students, or the field trips and walking tours that take you to places tourists don’t usually see—we’re all about our student service. Learn more about the day-to-day studying abroad on this program. From field trips to housing, it’s all on IES Abroad’s website.

Get started.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Application Process
There is a dual application process for this program.  (1) Students must apply to for permission to study abroad on this program; you can do this by clicking the "Apply Now" button.  At the same time, (2) students apply directly to the program for admission.  The program application can be accessed on the program website.  Please pay close attention to both the IWU and program deadlines, as they may be different.

Tuition Cost
IWU has a home-school tuition policy, which means that students studying abroad will be billed the regular IWU tuition—unless the study abroad tuition is higher, in which case the student pays that higher cost.  Unless otherwise noted, IWU does not charge room and board for studying abroad; instead, students pay those costs to the program provider.
